I suppose you learn by your mistakes. I had a terrible run today, and I know why. It was only five miles, but I had to stop three times. THREE times. I had absolutely zero energy. My legs felt like jelly. I thought I was going to keel over and faint.
Last night I ran 3 miles as soon as I got back from work. When I got home I couldn't be arsed to cook so I didn't have any dinner. This morning I wanted to get the run over with quite early, so I didn't bother with breakfast either. I just had a glass of water.
On paper, this makes me sound so stupid! But I just didn't really think about it.
I suppose if I'm going to take this seriously I need to start thinking about eating like an athlete - haha.
The rest of the weeks' training went well, although my back is playing up a bit. It is totally freezing at the moment though. When I run I can feel my lungs icing over.
